Microsoft is replacing its Upload Center with the Files Needing Attention starting mid-October 2019.

What is Upload Center and what does this change mean?

The Upload Center is an application whereby the files that weren’t successfully saved to the cloud can be found. While working on a Word file opened from OneDrive or SharePoint, for instance, if you lose internet connectivity, then the file with the unsaved changes gets saved to the Upload Center.

Microsoft is updating Office 365 Quarantine notifications and downloads from email.

What does it mean?

To take actions on spam notifications, you will now be required to navigate to the Quarantine Portal within the Security and Compliance Center to take actions on suspicious mail, such as releasing a message to the inbox.

Microsoft is ending support to Windows 7

By January 14, 2020, Microsoft has decided to end the support to Windows 7
How does it affect?

Office 365 ProPlus, Office 365 Business which is included in business plans such as M365 Business and Office 365 Business Premium, and desktop versions of Project and Visio, which was initially compatible with Windows 7 will have to be migrated to Windows 10 to get feature updates.

Teams and Live Captioning

For Teams meetings, Microsoft is launching live caption by early November. The rollout will be completed by the end of November.

Here’s a sneak peek of the feature:

Live captions give participants another way to follow a conversation. They can make your meeting more inclusive to participants who are deaf or hard of hearing, participants with different levels of language proficiency, and participants in loud places.
